Incredible experience. We stumbled upon this beautiful japanese traditional house by accident. Its run by an old lady, who is just as nice as anyone could be. The prices are way too cheap. Its only 300 yen for a slice of delicious cake and a hot/iced drink. More than thankful to have found this place. Come in here and support this beautiful cafe!

Saw a random sign for a cafe while at Zeniarai shrine and decided to check it out. It was just one Japanese lady who had set up a few tables in her 94 year old traditional Japanese house. Really amazing atmosphere and the owner is really friendly. Orders take a long time since it's just one woman running the whole operation, so don't stop by if you have a tight schedule.

Stumble across this quaint cafe while visiting the Shrine. It’s run by a lively elderly lady, who I believe runs and cooks everything by herself. It was 300 yen ($3 CAD) for any drink with any dessert combo… so cheap! We even asked if she could make iced coffee instead of warm (it was very hot outside that day) and she generously agreed. The cheesecake and apple pie were delicious. She also spoke good English, so it was easy to communicate.

really amazing cafe, so service and no wifi so it’s a good place to wind down and relax. also tucked away against the mountain near a shrine. the woman that runs the cafe is extremely sweet, she loves talking to anyone and her english is excellent. the menu itself is limited but everything is homemade and delicious!

So delicious and so cheap. Surrounded by trees, birdsongs and cicadas, sweet owner who speaks English. You’ll have to wait for your mochi but it’s so worth it. I got a tiny slice of cheesecake for free!

I went a little less than a year ago and the food was absolutely delicious. I had their mochi and nothing since has compared AND THE PRICE TOO. I thought I was reading it wrong but nope the price is insanely low and the taste is impeccable. There's also lots of old items and newspapers(ex:1984 Olympics paper). The people there are very nice and polite and know a bit of English. While it is hard to find sometimes I believe that makes it a hidden gem and if I ever go back to Japan I am 100% making a detour to come here again.
